Day One: Perth to Mount Barker

 Take the road south and watch the landscape shift as you journey into the Great Southern. Stretch your legs at The Rose Maze at The Kodja Place in Kojonup, a place woven with stories of country and culture. Continue through Cranbrook, the gateway to the Stirling Range National Park, where jagged peaks rise from the earth.

Your first taste of the region’s wine awaits in Mount Barker, the heart of the Great Southern Wine Region. Settle in for a long lunch overlooking vine-covered hills and take in the stillness of the countryside.

Day Two: Mount Barker to Albany

The Gap, Albany

Step into the past in Albany, a city steeped in heritage and history. Wander through charming streets lined with colonial buildings, stopping in at cafés, wine bars and boutique stores. Visit the National Anzac Centre, perched high on Mount Clarence, where the echoes of wartime stories still linger.

Day Three: Albany to Denmark

Day Four: Denmark to Stirling Range National Park

Turn inland and step into an entirely different world. The ancient peaks of Porongurup National Park rise from the landscape, inviting you to hike to the summit of Castle Rock and brave the Granite Skywalk, a suspended platform that rewards you with panoramic views stretching all the way to the ocean. Once you’re done, stop in at a Porongurup winery for a leisurely lunch where the cool-climate terroir produces some of Western Australia’s finest wines. After lunch, hit the road and head up to Stirling Range National Park and enjoy a relaxing afternoon taking in the stunning landscape.

Day Five: Stirling Range National Park to Katanning

Rise before dawn for an unforgettable Bluff Knoll sunrise, where the first light of day bathes the rugged peaks in soft hues of pink and gold. Watch as mist drifts through the valleys below, creating an ethereal spectacle that makes the early wake-up call well worth it.

As your journey begins back to Perth, take the scenic route through the Great Southern Treasures towns. Venture off the beaten path to Pingrup to admire its striking silo murals before continuing to Katanning, a town bursting with culture and history. Wander through laneways adorned with vibrant street art, explore the beautifully restored Premier Mill Hotel, and indulge in Katanning’s diverse food scene, a blend of influences from around the world.

Day Six: Katanning to Perth
