Mount Barker Town & Mural GalleryTrail

Collect a map from the visitor centre and set off to discover the creative talents splashed throughout town. Admire captivating murals and visit boutique galleries along the way.

Pwakkenbak Lookout and Boardwalk (Mount Barker Tower Hill)

Follow the trail to the boardwalk and take in panoramic views of the region, stretching across the Stirling Range and Porongurup Range.

Mount Barker Police and Folk Museum

Filled with fascinating history, this collection of heritage buildings is set among charming, landscaped gardens. The original Police Station was built by convict labour in 1868, with a second station to follow in 1908 and a Court House office added in 1919.

Granite Skywalk at the Castle Rock Trail:

Traverse Porongurup National Park’s lush jarrah, marri and karri forest along the Castle Rock Trail, before reaching the Granite Skywalk. This suspended steel walkway winds its way around the massive granite dome balanced atop of Castle Rock, rewarding hikers with views across to the Stirling Range.

Gondwana Link Sculpture at Twin Creeks Conservation Reserve

This 3.5m striking steel sculpture is a creative collaboration between cultural advisor and Minang Elder Aunty Carol Petterson and lead artist Ben Beeton. It celebrates the significance of Aboriginal songlines and the evolution of regional flora and fauna through a combined Noongar and western lens.

Nancy’s Peak Circuit and Tree in a Rock Picnic Area

Set off for Nancy’s peak from the majestic Tree in a Rock picnic area surrounded by a dome of towering karri trees. The circuit walk traverses the main peak of Porongurup, passing moss-covered granite, lush forest and offering majestic views of Stirling Range and the Southern Ocean.

Become acquainted with the pristine wines of the region on the Flavours of the Porongurup Range Trail or Mount Barker Wine and Food Trail. Authentic, family-run cellar doors with unparalleled views await.

Centenary Park

Encompassing the War Memorial and We Remember Them Walk, this poignant park is a place for reflection. A short stroll along the path will take you through to the Mount Barker Visitor Centre and to Wilson Park.
